Oil Painting Techniques Workshop
Two-day workshop
Saturday, July 4 | 10am – 1 pm
Sunday, July 5 | 10am – 1pm
Gallery Nobody&Friends, Antwerp, Belgium
Price: €150 per Person
Join me for a two-day workshop dedicated to the rich, layered, and expressive medium of oil paint.
In this workshop you will learn the foundational technique of working with oil paint in layers, from handling the material itself to understanding the painting process step by step. We will explore how to use and mix oil paints, mediums, brushes, and painting tools, and how to build an oil painting in layers.
Together, we will paint a still life over the course of the workshop. You will learn how create depth and atmosphere and gradually develop a painting through different stages, from the first block-in to more refined layers and finishing touches.
The focus will be on understanding the process of oil painting: how to start, how to build structure, how to work from general shapes toward detail, and how layers can bring richness, light, and dimension into a painting.
The workshop is suitable for all levels. No previous experience with oil painting is required. Whether you are completely new to oils or would like to deepen your understanding of a layered painting process, you are very welcome. The only thing you need to bring is curiosity, enthusiasm, and a willingness to explore.
All materials will be provided except the canvas. Please bring a canvas of the size 40cm x 50cm. If you prefer to bring your own oil paints, brushes, or painting tools, you are welcome to do so.
The workshop will be taught in English and German. Translation support may be available if needed.
Tea and snacks will be provided. For lunch on Saturday, please bring your own.
The workshop will take place in the inspiring setting of the Gallery Nobody&Friends in Antwerp, Belgium.
You will leave with a finished or nearly finished oil still life and a deeper understanding of how to use oil paint with more confidence, structure, and expression.
Limited to 8 participants to allow for individual guidance.
