Sentinel of Light began with the simple act of looking upward along the trunk of a tree.
There was no specific legend behind this work, but a feeling of quiet awe. Trees can stand in one place for decades, sometimes centuries, while human lives, conflicts and stories pass around them. They witness without judging. They endure without needing to explain.
For me, the tree became a sentinel: rooted, patient and almost untouched by the urgency of human affairs. Reaching into the light, it carries a different sense of time: slower, older and more generous than our own.
